We have 2 kids in school and they often come home with many papers, projects, letters, etc. Of course I go through and read and keep most of it but some does get looked at and go in the garbage. I have to ask first though as they have found some of their things in there without their permission and that wasn't pretty.
I particually like their Weekly Reader and Scholastic News sheets and booklets. I have been keeping them all year and now have a library of good information to use for their younger sisters. They are short and very informative and always current with season, holiday, etc. I also keep their religion lessons that get sent home. Even though some of the sheets are filled out, it still has good information that even young ones can understand. All of this information is a perfect mini lesson for the toddlers in the house. On the days when I know we have a lot going on and can't get everything in, it is nice to pick up the booklet and read through something educational and fun in just a few minutes.
